Presented in 2015 by MACHiNENOiSY at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. Co- presented by The Dance Centre & PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.
Time Machine features 8 children from the ages of 6 -13 along side 6 professional dancers, with live music by composer Chris Kelly and musicians Peggy Lee and Dylan VanDerSchyff. Time Machine explores simple contrasts between the young and the old such as, naiveté vs. experience and preparedness vs. spontaneity, through the lens of the body — both physical and material. With sculpture artist/costume designer Natalie Purschwitz, creators Delia Brett and Daelik have developed a landscape of objects and bodies that when put together can either evoke the sculpturesque performances of turn of the century artists like, Oscar Schlemmer and Martha Graham or resemble the playroom floor of a preschool before naptime.
