Artist Talk and Reception: Dance, Architecture and Public Space

On January 30, as part of our collaboration with the PuSh Festival, we invite you to join us at a roundtable talk as the artists, architects and designers involved in the creation of Fragile Forms discuss how the writings of renowned Finnish author and architect Juhani Pallasmaa have emerged in their creative response to the Anvil Centre architecture. How do we understand the space around us with our bodies? How do dance and architecture meet each other in a field of multisensory experience? In contemplation of these questions, we hope to bring to light how the various people, ideas and conditions behind the scenes come together to forge the subtle but powerful societal impact that design and architecture play in our lives. The discussion will be facilitated by Leslie Van Duzer, author and professor in the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, with members of the Fragile Forms creative team, and Lisa Spitale, the CAO for the City of New Westminster.

The event begins at 7 pm, followed by an open reception with the roundtable speakers and the artists of Fragile Forms. The talk and reception are free but registration is strongly suggested.
